Melanie Mabile Mulcahy
Melanie Mabile Mulcahy practices in the areas of commercial litigation and transactions in virtually all facets of business law, including Breach of Contract Litigation; Business Owner Dispute and Liquidation Litigation; Construction Litigation; Employment Litigation; Contract Drafting and Negotiation; Mergers and Acquisitions; Stock and Asset Sales and Purchases; and Entity Selection, Startup, Liquidation, and Dissolution.
Ms. Mulcahy is also a mediator with maps | Mediation Arbitration Professional Systems, Inc. Ms. Mulcahy’s mediation practice encompasses all types of civil matters, with an emphasis on business break-ups, member/shareholder disputes, liquidations, breach of contract matters, construction law, employment law, and other commercial mediation matters. Ms. Mulcahy is listed on the approved register of Civil Mediators maintained by the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the Louisiana State Bar Association.
She received her B.A. degree from Tulane University's Newcomb College in 1994 and her J.D. degree from LSU’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 1999. Ms. Mulcahy founded Mulcahy Law in October, 2021, after practicing for over 17 years with a local law firm and previously serving as Assistant General Counsel for a publicly traded telecommunications company for over 4 years prior to her private practice.
Ms. Mulcahy is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Jefferson Bar Association. She previously served in several capacities with the Louisiana State Bar Association, including as chair of the Young Lawyers Section from 2009-2010, and with the American Bar Association. She has been recognized by her peers in New Orleans Magazine‘s 2020, 2021, and 2022 Top Lawyers editions.
